I am learning how to customize this s-l-o-w-l-y.

This morning I managed to change the header above to make it more ours and hopefully more enhancements will come.  I have also set up a photo gallery at http://photos.mainemillers.com to host the photos.  It’s still in the testing phase but feel free to look about.  I hope to eventually integrate the two sites together.

Today I went to LP Bisson’s Farm and Meat Market in Topsham, ME to pick up some steaks for dinner. They have some of the freshest meat since the cows are right behind the market. Anyway I asked the butcher if they have any bones for dogs and his reply was “of course we do, I’ll be right back.” He came back from the walk in cooler and handed me a bag of bones and said that if you buy meat here the bones are on the house.

Scout was pretty happy when we got home today. I had to send him outside on the deck to chew on it since it was pretty nasty and really didn’t want it in the house until he cleaned off the meat. I have 4 more of them in the freezer so Scout should have a grand time this spring working them clean!

Michele got Scout a new toy today.  I told her no more toys for Scout unless you find the gnawhide rings for the Bouncy Bone that he got last week.  Well she found the rings and used the opportunity to get him a new toy, the Tug-a-Jug.  It's a dangerous toy that includes this caution label:

Caution:

If your dog is especially active in swinging

this toy by it's rope, the jug could cause

damage to furniture or injury to other pets

or persons.  Use common sense and supervise use.

He likes the toy but chewed through the rope in less than a hour.  I replaced that with another rope and he chewed through that one in about 5 minutes.  I am starting to call him scissor teeth 🙂 .  No more ropes for him.  He can still play with the bottle the way it is and try to get treats out but no more swinging it around 🙁 .

It was recommended over at A Dog's Life to try out the Bouncy Bone and I have to say that it's a hit!  Scout really likes it although the gnawhide rings don't last as long as I would like, really just about 5-10 minutes but the bone is being chewed 🙂 .  It almost ranks up there with the Squirrel Dude for fun attention.

Thanks to Nancy Friedman-Smith for the product review.  Keep it up!

I found this today and thought that I would share…

Ten Peeves that Dogs Have About Humans

1. Blaming your farts on me…not funny.. not funny at all !!!

2. Taking me to the vet for "the big snip", then acting surprised when I freak out every time we go back!

3. Taking me for a walk, then not letting me check stuff out…Exactly whose walk is this anyway?

4. Any trick that involves balancing food on my nose…Stop it!

5. Any haircut that involves bows or ribbons…Now you know why we chew your stuff up when you're not home.

6. The sleight of hand, fake fetch throw.  You fooled a dog! Whoooo Hoooooooo! What a proud moment for the top of the food chain.

7. Yelling at me for barking…I'M A DOG, YOU IDIOT!

8. Getting upset when I sniff the crotches of your guests. Sorry, but I haven't quite mastered that handshake thing yet.

9. Dog sweaters? Hello ???…Haven't you noticed the fur?

10. How you act disgusted when I lick myself.  Look, we both know the truth, you're just jealous.

Now lay off me on some of these things.
We both know who's boss here!!!
You don't see me picking up your poop do you ???
