Scout got his first “grooming” the other day and he is so soft and fluffy. He spent 7 hours at the groomer’s shop but I will venture a guess most of that was not pampering. He really doesn’t look to much different but his “pants” are shorter and he doesn’t feel “dusty.” Now to see how long it will last.

Today was the first real hot day of the year. It topped out around 94 degrees at home and Scout was none too happy with that temperature. He spent a lot of time on the deck in the shade or snoozing in his kennel in the cooler bedroom. He is kind of funny about his water bowl, I took his regular plastic bowl outside for him and he was fine with that but I put one of our older stainless bowls in the kitchen for him and he wanted nothing to do with it. He even tried to pick it up and move it kind of asking where is my regular bowl. I have now switched them back.
This past weekend we tried the harness again and achieved some success. We all walked downtown to Bart & Greg’s DVD Explosion to pick up a movie and he hardly pulled on the leash. He did, however, continue to try to eat the leash. It was a pretty enjoyable walk overall.
What a waste today. I was going to bring Scout back to doggie daycare and when I looked at the weather report a few days ago it looked like rain for today and tomorrow. Well, if it did rain today, it was invisible rain. It was close to 80 degrees and sunny and poor Scout was home alone today. And if it did happen to rain that would mean mud, and mud will require a bath, and a bath will require bringing a muddy dog home, which will cause the back of the car to get dirty, so I will look at getting the car detailed, and that will cost money that will take away from the doggie daycare fund, so we will look for dry days to play all day outside.
I will try again next week when it looks dry.
