It was recommended over at A Dog's Life to try out the Bouncy Bone and I have to say that it's a hit!  Scout really likes it although the gnawhide rings don't last as long as I would like, really just about 5-10 minutes but the bone is being chewed 🙂 .  It almost ranks up there with the Squirrel Dude for fun attention.

Thanks to Nancy Friedman-Smith for the product review.  Keep it up!

I found this today and thought that I would share…

Ten Peeves that Dogs Have About Humans

1. Blaming your farts on me…not funny.. not funny at all !!!

2. Taking me to the vet for "the big snip", then acting surprised when I freak out every time we go back!

3. Taking me for a walk, then not letting me check stuff out…Exactly whose walk is this anyway?

4. Any trick that involves balancing food on my nose…Stop it!

5. Any haircut that involves bows or ribbons…Now you know why we chew your stuff up when you're not home.

6. The sleight of hand, fake fetch throw.  You fooled a dog! Whoooo Hoooooooo! What a proud moment for the top of the food chain.

7. Yelling at me for barking…I'M A DOG, YOU IDIOT!

8. Getting upset when I sniff the crotches of your guests. Sorry, but I haven't quite mastered that handshake thing yet.

9. Dog sweaters? Hello ???…Haven't you noticed the fur?

10. How you act disgusted when I lick myself.  Look, we both know the truth, you're just jealous.

Now lay off me on some of these things.
We both know who's boss here!!!
You don't see me picking up your poop do you ???

Two weeks ago I wrote about Unleashed, the self service bath, today would have been a good day to go back.  Yesterday we had a pretty good snow/sleet/rain storm about 6 inches of snow followed by the rest.  Needless to say it's pretty wet today outside and I took Scout out to play at Bowdoin College I try to take Scout at least one weekend day if not both for an hour or so to play and run off some energy. Today it was pretty wet.  Lots of melting snow and pooling water.  As soon as we got there he ran over a mound that the plows made and jumped right into a 4 inch deep puddle of muddy ice water.  Then he proceeded to find his "doggie friends" and play for an hour or so.  This is the stinky results about an hour after we got home.  I think he is going to smell all day.  The car, the kennel, the dogbed…is it worth it?  I think so, he has so much fun playing there that I feel bad if he cannot go one week.

I just wish the kids were more into Scout and playing with him.  They just dig in the snow and ignore the dogs unless they get into their holes that they are making.  They just yell at the dogs that interrupt their play.

Michele is VERY good at getting Scout to play with his long forgotten toys.  The other day she got him interested in his Squirrel Dude which was a replacement for the Twist 'n Treat he destroyed in November.  She just has a magic touch with the toys and now he is obsessed with it.  We put some small treats inside and he picks it up and shakes it to get them to fall out.  It's really interesting to watch him look at the toy and pick up the end without the hole so the treats will come out when he shakes.

It was bath day yesterday and we tried a new self service bath, Unleashed, that opened up a month or so ago.  The kids went with me, and Emma just made herself at home chatting up a storm with the owner while I bathed and dried the monster.  He did really well with the exception of the drier.  He hated the dryer.  I think if he could have tried to get out of the sink through the back corner he would have.  The nice thing about Unleashed is that for a reasonable price I bring the dog and any combs and brushes, they supply the sink, dryer, towels, shampoo, conditioner, nail clippers, and the all important waterproof apron.
