We got the dogs a flying saucer toy to keep them thinking. You fill it with treats and screw the top on and as they chew it the treats fall out. The company sells small treats to put inside the toy but they are about the size of Cheerios and they fall out too easily so we loaded it up with 1/4 inch nuggets that we have called Bitz and they have to work a little bit to get them out. Of course they are usually chasing each other around with the toy. Here is one of the rare moments of concentration where Scout isn’t climbing on top of Taz or muckled onto her fur.

It’s pretty funny to watch Scout play soccer with Zach’s basketball tonight. He was all over the yard pushing it and running so fast that when he jumped on top of it he rolled right over. I didn’t get a chance to get the camera out before he tuckered out. I will try tomorrow at the July 4th picnic at Dori and Jon’s house. Hopefully Dawna will bring Wiley and they can have a ball together.

Hot Car Dangers

Last night, being the first of the month, we did the Frontline on the two dogs. It must smell bad or something. Taz really doesn’t like it, Patch used to tolerate it, and Scout just kept trying to get away from that guy putting slime on his back. At least with Scout it isn’t much liquid so he wasn’t “crusty” this morning like the others.

Someone likes to dig! Zach was outside with his metal detector in the back yard and found an old railroad pole about 5 feet long (along with a multitude of other railroad parts) and while he was digging it out Scout decided to check out the fun. He took right to digging like he had done it all his life. Just jumped in with both front feet and started to shovel it out the back a good yard or more. Then of course he promptly went and laid down in the hole and rolled on his back 🙁 . Oh well, I was thinking he would need a bath this weekend anyway.
